MUKURA Victory Sports will be keen on getting back to winning ways when they host Amagaju at Huye Stadium on Saturday afternoon following their first loss – against Police – of the season.

The Southern derby is the new focus for Francis Haringingo’s side who are trying to forget about Thursday’s 3-2 defeat

"We have to forget about what happened against Police,” Haringingo said about the game that ended his team’s 10-match unbeaten run in Azam Rwanda Premier League this season.

Victory by the Huye-based side will see the gap between them and second-placed Rayon Sports cut to two points while still having three games in hand. The latter have 31 points from 15 games.

"We had gone a long time without losing in the league, maybe the defeat [against Police] was a wakeup call.  We have tough games ahead of us. We have to build on what we had been doing well and combine it with lessons we learnt from the loss,” added the Burundian tactician.

Prior to their game against Albert Joel Mphande’s law enforcers, Mukura were the only unbeaten side in domestic league this term. Leaders APR have lost twice while Rayon Sports have already suffered four defeats.

Speaking to Saturday Sport on Friday, Amagaju head coach Jean Paul Muhoza warned the hosts that his side will not be traveling to Huye Stadium to gift them points.

"We will come in the game looking for a win, which will boost our chances of getting out of the relegation zone,” said Muhoza.

"I’m confident in my boys’ ability to stand up to the challenge. We have worked hard in making sure the team is in the best possible shape in training, physically and mentally,” he added.

Amagaju are located at the bottom of the 16-team table with 8 points, having only recorded two wins and two draws in their first 14 matches this season.
