National sports retreat kicks-off in Rubavu

The Ministry of Sports and Culture (Minispoc) in conjunction with Rwanda National Olympic and Sports Committee (RNOSC) have organized a national sports retreat that gets underway today in Rubavu and will run through Saturday.

The three-day retreat is expected to attract among others; the presence of the Minister for Sports and Culture, Esperance Nyirasafari, and Ambassador Valens Munyabagisha, the RNOSC president.

According to Minispoc, a number of key issues – including sports promotion and development – will be on the agenda for the three-day retreat.

It is understood that the first day will be for the retreat, deliberating about sports development, while the last two days are set for the general assembly of RNOSC and sporting federations.

The theme of the retreat is ‘Sports Development’ and the main objective of the workshop is to analyze the current situation of sports sector while aligning current programs with new strategies.

Officials from over thirty-three sports federations departed Kigali Wednesday for the retreat and RNOSC general assembly.
