Empty your bin

My mother bought me this little red dustbin last year. She said that I would dump rubbish in it to keep my room organised.
Well I thought so too but every time I look at it, I am amazed at how quickly it gets full.

I always make plans to empty it every once in a while but I never do so. Every time I clean my room I forget the bin. It’s really funny how that happens because it’s right at the door where I always see it.

Yet, I forget about it. I know you are wondering how lazy I am and how I can possibly forget such a simple thing like emptying my bin.

The reality is that you forget too. Just like my trash, there are small bad habits in your life that you wish to stop. Those little things you know you should not do but still do.

The small things your parents and teachers keep telling you to stop doing. We all have bad habits that we need to stop. Just like the trash in my bin we need to get them out once and for all by emptying the bin in our lives.

Some of these little habits are very addictive. Habits like lying, stealing and insulting your friends seem so small, that’s why we keep doing them even though they are bad.

When you repeat a bad habit it becomes part of your behaviour. If my bin stays on in my room over flowing with trash soon it will smell and it will be impossible for me to stay in my room.

Therefore, since I am not ready to give up my room, I must do something about it. Our bad habits too if unchecked can turn us into bad people. No one will want to be our friends.

Just like my mother reminds me to empty my bin, we must always remind each other to stop bad habits. In this way, we shall all be better people.
