André "Dede” Ayew, the Ghanaian under-20 skipper donated foodstuffs to orphans of Gisimba Memorial Centre in Nyakabanda, Kigali. The orphanage centre is home for 184 children, whose parents died from HIV.

To him, the donation was not much though can bring happiness to the children’s faces, but to the kids, it was a dream to share moments with an upcoming superstar, Ayew, is the son of Abedi Pele, an African football legend.

To him, donating foodstuff worth Rwf1.1 million was because of his love for  kids, but to many, it was amazing.

"Donating is perhaps the last thing a youth of 20 years would think about,” the memorial centre’s Director, Damas Gisimba said.

In his speech to the orphans, Ayew, the Club FC Lorient player in French Ligue advised kids to always strive high and work hard to succeed in life.

"You can always make it provided you stay focused and determined,” said the French- born foot baller. He was in the country for two weeks during the U-20 African Youth Championship (AYC) hosted by Rwanda.

While bidding farewelto them with kisses and hugs, Ayew promised to visit the children some other time.

Having been overwhelmed by Ayew’s love and care, the kids wished him and fellow teammates luck ahead of the AYC finals against the Indomitable Lions, Cameroon.

Indeed God answered the children’s prayers and the Black Satellites of Ghana won by 2 goals to nil. They were scored by Ransford Osei becoming the championship top scorer with seven goals.
