Rwanda international and Gor Mahia forward Jacques Tuyisenge has rubbished reports linking him with a move to DR Congo giants AS Vita Club, and has instead committed his future to the Kenyan champions.

Tuyisenge moved to Gor Mahia in February 2016 after captaining Amavubi to quarter-finals of the 4th African Nations Championship (CHAN) finals tournament, which was staged in Rwanda.

Reports emanating from local media since last month suggested that Tuyisenge was close to agreeing a move to the DRC club, but the talk of the talisman leaving Gor has since died down.

"I have no idea where the rumours are originating from, but it is not true,” he said. "I have a contract with Gor Mahia and I intend to honour it.”

Since crossing to the Kenyan giants from Police FC, the 27-year old has gone on to score more than 50 goals for the K’ Ogalo side, becoming one of the club’s all-time scorers and arguably the most consistent and most influential player in Kenya Premier League.

Gor registered their biggest win in domestic league this season on Wednesday as they hammered Mt Kenya United 4-1. The victory lifted the reigning champions to fourth place with 13 points – four off table leaders Mathare United.

Tuyisenge and his teammates now have their sights focused on the second-leg clash against New Stars de Douala, of Cameroon, in the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday afternoon.

The first leg, which was played last weekend in Nairobi, ended 2-1 in favour of Gor Mahia. Tuyisenge scored the winning goal.

Should Gor Mahia see off the Cameroonian side, they will progress to the group stage of the continental competition for the second time on the bounce.
