Jimmy Mulisa has challenged his APR players to stay ‘humble and hungry’ in the Azam Rwanda Premier League as the champions take on rivals Police FC at Kigali Stadium on Sunday.

The game will start at 3:30pm.

APR, fresh from a 1-0 victory over Espoir last week, go into Sunday’s battle as favourites but Mulisa insists they won’t be getting ahead of themselves.

The law enforcers were held by AS Kigali to a 2-all draw last week.

"I know it’s going to be a tough game on both sides, and that is what we expect. We have prepared accordingly, and every player is fit for it – there is nothing we cannot achieve if we focus, and execute our game plan,” said the former Amavubi forward.

The 2015 Peace Cup winners, Police, have had a slow start to the 2018-19 season under Joel Albert Mphande, which has left some fans pondering the future of the club.

Police who have won six, drawn one and only four games so far this term, are located in sixth position with 21 points, a whopping 12 points behind leaders APR.

"I believe we are capable of winning these type of games, we have what it takes. But that confidence will be tested on Sunday (today) against APR, we have to be ready and prove to ourselves that we are as strong as ever,” said the Zambia-born tactician.

Should APR win, they will cruise to 35 points, while victory for Mphande’s side – who have a reputation of frustrating the army side – will see Police cut their deficit at the top to 9 points.

Also on Sunday, Kirehe face Bugesera at Kirehe grounds while Etincelles will host Sunrise at Umuganda Stadium.
