Rayon Sports eye ‘crucial victory’ against Marines

Rayon Sports will be looking for ‘crucial victory’ when they face a tricky away test against Marines at Umuganda Stadium on Sunday.

The Blues travel to Rubavu District intent on closing in on leaders APR who face Police FC at Kigali Stadium on Sunday.

Ahead of their clash against stubborn Marines, Rayon are second-placed with 28 points, four adrift of the military side. Marines, another army side, are in 12th position with 15 points.

"We can’t afford to take our eyes off the ball against Marines,” Rayon Sports coach Roberto Oliveira said, insisting that "The target is earn all the three points.”

The Brazilian tactician also warned his players. "They [Marines] will come out to try and win in front of their fans, we can’t take them lightly. There is no margin of error on Saturday.”

In a separate interview, Marines head coach Yves Rwasamanzi told Saturday Sport, "I want my players to give their best and fight to keep the three points at home. Rayon are a big club with big history, but we are not afraid of them.”

Elsewhere on Saturday, AS Muhanga host Espoir at Muhanga Stadium while AS Kigali will be taking on Amagaju at Kigali Stadium.
