Editor,

I would like to thank the Ghanaian U-20 player André "Dede” Ayew for donating foodstuffs to orphans of Gisimba memorial centre in Nyakabanda, Kigali.

Not only is he a talented soccer player, but the son of African football legend Abedi Pele, is also good at bringing smiles on the faces of vulnerable children in society.

It is indeed touching to know that the professional footballer based his spirit of donation to the fact that these orphans are victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

Other professional footballers should emulate Dede’s because giving back to vulnerable people lifts their hope in life and helps them understand that everybody else cares about their well being.
