Hopefuls UTB recorded two important victories over Kirehe and champions Gisagara on Saturday to go two points clear at the top of the 2018-19 national volleyball league.

Fidele Nyirimana’s side overpowered strugglers Kirehe in straight (3-0) sets before overcoming giants Gisagara in a five-set thriller (25-21, 14-25, 25-15, 22-25, 16-14) for a weekend double.

With the two wins, UTB have 25 points, two ahead of Rwanda Energy Group (REG) and Gisagara who are in second and third place, respectively.
