The ‘MTN Kigali Praise Fest 2019 Edition One’ organisers have confirmed that all is set for the February 10 concert at Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village (Camp Kigali).
The highly anticipated show will be headlined by internationally acclaimed Christian music songster, Don Moen.
For the first time, the America worship icon will be performing in the country.
Moen is expected in Kigali on February 9, ahead of the concert.
Speaking to The New Times, Remy Lubega, CEO of RG Consult, the organisers of the concert, said they are "getting set” and expect to come up with the sitting ground plan for the venue in a week’s time.
He added that local artistes, who will perform at the show, have started rehearsals.
"We shall be getting another drop from Don Moen soon,” he added.
At the concert, revellers should expect to witness the America music icon belt out his hit tracks such as; Our father, Thank you Lord, God is good all the time, I will sing, As we worship you, Have your way, and He never sleeps, in a live concert.
Born June 29, 1950, Donald James ‘Don’ Moen is an American gospel singer, songwriter, pastor, and producer of worship music.
Associated with some of the best known worship songs, Moen developed his talent while attending Oral Roberts University in Oklahoma. He worked for Integrity Music for 20 years before quitting to concentrate on his music. The singer has established a solid base with fans across different age groups.
The concert will feature performances by local Christian artistes Israel Mbonyi, Dinah Uwera, Columbus Uwayo, and Aflewo (Africa Let’s Worship –Rwanda Chapter) band.
At a past news conference, Mbonyi noted that sharing a stage with Don Moen would come as the fulfillment of a childhood dream. He described him as an inspiration both musically and spiritually.
The Ku marembo y’ijuru hitmaker promised to use the event to unveil the songs off his upcoming third album.
Tickets outlets are; Giporoso (MTN Centre), Chic Building (MTN Centre), Remera Corner (MTN Centre), Camellia (CHIK), Camellia(UTC), Camellia (Makuza Plaza), Caritas (Book shop), BemBonita (Salon), Kigali Serena Hotel.
They cost Rwf11,400 (ordinary), Rwf23,750 (VIP), and Rwf237,500 (VVIP table of eight).
Lubega said the ticket sales are going well, "It’s quite positive, and we anticipate a good number of people at the concert.”
