APR beat UR to go third

APR basketball club thrashed University of Rwanda’s College of Arts and Social Sciences (UR-CASS) 100-54 to move into third place in the Bank of Kigali National Basketball League.

Following Sunday’s fixture APR  have 10 points, two behind leaders Patriots and one behind second-placed Rwanda Energy Group Basketball Club.

After the game, APR coach Karim Nkusi said the target is to remain in top three so as to be able to take part in the playoffs.

"We are happy to be in top three and our target is to remain there until the end of the season,” the former APR and national team player said

Former Espoir star Pascal Niyonkuru posted a game-high 31 points while Bienvenu Niyonsaba and Eric Munyaneza contributed 15 and 13 points in that order.

Alain Prince Micomyiza was the highest scorer for UR-CASS with 13 points, followed by Ralph Dushime and Angelo Dusabirema with 12 and 11 points, respectively.
