MUKURAVictory Sports forward Bertrand Iradukunda is determined to keep improving following a string of impressive performances since his move from Police FC in September.

The 22-year old scored the opening goal as Mukura beat struggling Kirehe 2-0 at Huye Stadium on Saturday to extend their unbeaten run to twelve games in all competitions this season.

Last month, Iradukunda was the lone scorer as Francis Haringingo’s side overcame SC Kiyovu in a rare 1-0 victory at Mumena Stadium.

He opened the scoring, against Kirehe, after 19 minutes before former APR striker Onesme Twagirimana doubled the lead in the second-half to earn Mukura the three important points.

"I am happy I was on the score-sheet today, but I have to keep working and improving so I can contribute more to the club’s success. Scoring is a good feeling and a good challenge at the same time, you have to work harder to meet the expectations from fans,” said Iradukunda.

After eight league games this term, Mukura sit in second position with 22 points, having won seven and drawn once, respectively. They trail leaders APR by four points but the latter have played two games more.

"I am happy with how the players applied themselves on the field. We are playing well and they did exactly what I wanted today, the victory was a well-deserved one. Now the focus is shifted on the next game [against APR] on Thursday,” coach Haringingo told Times Sport in a post-match interview.

Mukura, still fresh from progressing to playoffs round of the CAF Confederation Cup, will be looking to become the first team to beat APR when the two sides face-off at Kigali Stadium on Thursday in their rescheduled game, which was initially due on December 1.

Iradukunda was signed from Police as a free agent in September and has since scored twice and provided four assists in seven league games.
