League leaders APR will be looking to boost their title charge with victory when they take on AS Kigali on Sunday afternoon at Kigali Stadium. Kick-off 3:30pm.

The military side are keen on maintaining their unbeaten run throughout the first-half of the 2018-19 Azam Rwanda Premier League season.

Fresh from beating SC Kiyovu on Thursday, a win over AS Kigali will see Jimmy Mulisa’s side extending their near-perfect start to nine games, having so far won seven games and drawn once in their first eight league games.

"AS Kigali is a good team and we respect them, but we shall do everything possible to emerge victorious. It will be a tough game but my players are ready for the challenge,” said Mulisa, the APR head coach.

The former Amavubi forward will be relying on the striking duo of Lague Byiringiro and Issa Bigirimana, and Jean Baptiste Mugiraneza’s leadership in the midfield.

On the other hand, the City of Kigali-sponsored side will be looking to continue their recent stellar performances after scoring ten goals, and conceding none, in their last three games, in which they beat Bugesera, Kiyovu and Gicumbi.

Djuma Masudi’s side humiliated Gicumbi 6-0 in their last game.

"Even though we had a shaky start to the new season, we have considerably improved in the recent, and that is the spirit we want to display [against APR] on Sunday. Winning the last three games has boosted our confidence as a team,” Masudi told Sunday Sport in a separate interview.

Elsewhere on Sunday, SC Kiyovu host AS Muhanga at Mumena Stadium while Bugesera will be up against Espoir at Nyamata grounds.
