REG        Vs      Patriots         20:00

It will be a battle of the titans when champions Patriots and bitter rivals Rwanda Energy Group (REG) square-off in the Bank of Kigali National Basketball League at Amahoro Stadium on Friday.

The game will get underway at 8pm.

Leaders REG and holders Patriots are the only sides still unbeaten this season. The former have collected a maximum 10 points from their first five games, while Henry Mwinuke’s Patriots have eight points and one game in hand.

Speaking to Times Sport on Thursday, REG head coach Patrick Ngwijuruvugo said, "We have prepared for this game for a whole week, we had to put in extra work in training because we know the kind of opponent we are facing. We’ll approach the game as if our lives depend on it.”

Last season, Patriots dethroned REG to win the league title before beating them 3-1 in the best-of-five finals series to retain the Play-off Games title.

According to head coach, Henry Mwunuke, Patriots are committed and strong as ever as ahead of their much anticipated clash against REG.

"This is a very important game for either team, which makes it a tough one on both sides. We are mentally and physically ready, and we will do all we can to come out as victors.”

The game between the two local heavyweights will be preceded by another interesting encounter pitting two former champions, Espoir against APR at 6pm, same venue.
