Champions Patriots will be up against UR-CASS basketball team, looking for an away win to complete their weekend double following Friday’s 69-67 victory over APR at Amahoro Stadium.

The Huye-based University of Rwanda’s College of Arts and Social Sciences (UR-CASS) are back into the Bank of Kigali National Basketball League after missing the last two seasons, allegedly because of financial constraints.

UR-CASS were due to play their first game into the new season on Saturday afternoon, against table leaders Rwanda Energy Group (REG). The game was yet to get underway by press time.

Prior to their clash against UR-CASS, REG topped the table with 8 points, two ahead of Henry Mwinuke’s Patriots who are in second position.

In-form Patrick Ngwijuruvugo’s REG thrashed struggling United Generation Basketball (UGB) 90-54 to maintain their perfect start.
