Multisport athlete Hanani Uwineza has fired a warning to rivals that she will be targeting the gold medal in Sunday’s Kigali Duathlon Competition to end the 2018 season on a high.

The 23-year-old says she will give it her best to ensure she accomplishes the mission.

Uwineza, who represents Gisenyi Beach Triathlon Team, has excelled at most events this year, beating her opponents to clinch gold in both the Rubavu and Nyamata triathlon events.

"I have been training very hard to able to tackle the route, and I am looking forward to the competition after missing Kibuye Triathlon tourney last month,” she said.

Over 40 athletes are expected to turn up for the one-day competition, which will set off from Kigali Convention Center roundabout at 8:30am.

Athletes will cover a distance of 5 kilometers running before switching to 20 kilometers of bicycle riding, then conclude the gruesome route with another 5 kilometers of running
