Caf chairman of youth competition, Slim Aloulou praised Rwanda for hosting what he described as "an extraordinary African Youth Championship” which will go down in history as the best ever.

"This championship will go into records as the best ever during my reign while heading the youth competitions.

"At the beginning, many people thought Rwanda would not make it and with time Rwanda has emerged and surprised every body to beat all odds and hosted a successful tournament.

"No team complained about the services offered and our inspection continued to make their regular visits to check on all and everything has been of high standard,” Aloulou said.

Aloulou also stressed that hosting stadiums, Amahoro and Nyamirambo were all equipped with the necessary facilities.

Comparing Rwanda with past hosts, Aloulou said that Rwanda was excellent in organizing the tournament, be it from management, transport, accommodation, feeding, medical issues, security to mention among other things, everything was of a high standard.

The Caf administrator expressed gratitude towards Rwanda’s football federation, Ferwafa and government leaders as well as ordinary Rwandan for their undying efforts to host a flourishing tournament.

Aloulou also pointed out African youth football has developed to an outstanding level.

"This is a tournament where football performance was of a high quality. All the eight teams played good football and we are satisfied with this level of football.

"This is a first time that 38 goals have been recorded and only one red card issued in this tournament and this shows good standard for African football,” Aloulou said.
