Amagaju      0-0        Kirehe

Police            3-2        Marines

Espoir            4-1         Etincelles

Christophe Ndayishimiye scored the lone goal as Mukura Victory Sports beat AS Muhanga at Huye Stadium on Saturday to unseat APR as table leaders of the Azam Rwanda Premier League.

A first-half strike from the Burundian forward sent the Huye-based side atop of the standings with 16 points, one ahead of second-placed APR. However, the latter have played two games less while Mukura have one game in hand.

He scored in the 10th minute to put the hosts ahead, a lead they would hold onto till the final whistle despite a number of squandered goal chances for the visitors.

Talking to Times Sport in a post-match interview, Mukura coach Haringingo said, "It was not an easy game but we managed to get a goal and the three points, which is exactly what we fought for.”

"The focus is now shifted to the next game, there is no time to relax. We won’t rest on our laurels and lose focus,” he added.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Police came from a goal down to beat Marines 3-2 thanks to Peter Otema’s goal and a brace from Osee Iyabivuze. Cedric Samba and Saleh Nyirinkindi scored the two goals for Marines.

Espoir thrashed struggling Etincelles 4-1 while Amagaju and Kirehe shared goalless spoils at Nyagasenyi Stadium in Nyamagabe District.
