AZAM Rwanda Premier League side Mukura will be shooting for the top spot of the table standings when they host AS Muhanga at Huye Stadium on Saturday.

Table leaders APR – whose Saturday match against Sunrise has been postponed – lead second-placed Mukura by two points.

The black and yellow outfit have 13 points from their first five games into the 2018-19 season while APR have collected maximum points from five games – and are yet to concede a goal.

"The AS Muhanga game means a lot, we are fighting for the three points to go top of the table. I know some players are still exhausted from Caf Confederation Cup action but that won’t be an excuse, we will give it all we got for the home victory,” said Mukura coach, Francis Christian Haringingo.

The Burundian tactician says that all – but injured Alex Nkomezi – players are available for the match against fifth-placed AS Muhanga.

"AS Muhanga have been doing well since returning to top tier league, we should expect a strong opposition. However, we are also determined to stretch our run of impressive results this season and we will have the advantage of playing at home.”

On the other side, just like Mukura, AS Muhanga are also still unbeaten this season, having won two and drawn four times in their first six league games.

Should the visitors win by a margin bigger than one goal, they will dislodge Mukura into the second position. Mukura have a greater goal difference (4) compared to AS Muhanga’s three.

According to AS Muhanga coach, Abdu Mbarushimana, his players are fit and ready for the challenge, "We are building a team that can beat anyone anywhere, that’s what we are testing on Saturday. We are traveling to Huye Stadium for a win, and my men are aware of the challenge.”

"We need the three points and keep pushing for better positions,” he added.

Elsewhere on Saturday, Amagaju will entertain Kirehe at Nyagisenyi Grounds, Police host Marines at Kicukiro Stadium while Espoir will be up against Etincelles at Kamarampaka.

Weekend action will continue on Sunday when Rayon Sports take on AS Kigali at Kigali Stadium.
