The national volleyball league’s title hopefuls Rwanda Energy Group (REG) will be looking for two important victories when they take on Kirehe and IPRC-East at Amahoro Stadium on Saturday.

Saturday will also mark the end of the 2018/2019 topflight volleyball league’s first-half as teams enter a one-month break until the championship resumes in January 2019.

Ahead of the two Saturday games, REG are in third place with nine points, having won three and lost one game in their first four games, respectively.

Talking to Saturday Sport on Friday, head coach Benon Mugisha Barayavuga appealed to his players to consider the two games as must-win in order to go into halfway break on a high.

"We can’t afford any mistake to lose any of the two games. We have already lost one game – against Gisagara, and that hurt our title aspirations a lot. In order to boost our chances, we must ensure we win all our remaining games,” said Mugisha.

REG will play IPRC- East at 1pm before taking on Kirehe four hours later in their second game of the day. Kirehe will tussle it out with IPRC- East in the other match at 3pm.

Also on Saturday, champions Gisagara will be hosting APR and IPRC- West and head coach Dominique Ntawangundi has tipped his players to do the needful for two home victories.

The Gisagara District-sponsored side are level with REG at nine points from four games.
