DJUMA Nizeyimana has promised to he will score many more goals for SC Kiyovu this season as he seeks to establish himself as one of the country’s most prolific strikers.

The forward’s brace sank Rayon Sports during a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Kiyovu at Kigali Stadium on Sunday their first victory over the Blues since April 2012.

"To score against big teams is a massive motivation, I want to be consistent and score many more goals in order to help my team stay in the run for the league title,” said Nizeyimana.

"I was very amazed by my teammates. We played the best football so far this season, and I hope we carry it from there and build some momentum,” he added.

"I am going to put it more effort, especially in training, so I can keep improving and doing better in every game.”

Thanks to their latest victory, Kiyovu moved to the sixth position with 10 points and within five points of leaders APR and three behind second-placed Mukura.

After six match rounds, 24-year old Nizeyimana is the leading goal-scorer with five goals, one ahead of Rayon Sports’ striker Bonfils Caleb Bimenyimana.

In the meantime, the Disciplinary Committee of Rwanda Football Federation has slapped Bimenyimana with a four-match suspension and Rwf30,000 fine following his karate kick on a Sunrise FC supporter who invaded the pitch and tried attacking the player during the two teams’ match-day 3 league game in late October.

Along with the Burundian forward, Rayon Sports Kit Manager Claude Dushimimana was handed a one-year suspension from all football activities and a fine of Rwf50,000.

Sunrise will host their next Azam Rwanda Premier League game behind closed doors.
