Mukura Victory Sport settled for a goalless draw with AS Kigali at Huye Stadium in a Primus National League week 27 encounter on Sunday, April 21.

It was a keenly contested game shaped by a host of missed chances as the pair took home a point each.

Mukura VS started the game with Abubakar Uwiduhaye as the lone striker upfront while Cedric Kubwimana and Elie Tatou were attacking from the wings.

AS Kigali also had Shabani Hussein and Felix Kone in attack with Janvier Benedata, Rafael Osaluwe and Fiston Ishimwe in midfield.

The home side sought for an early goal as they pinned AS Kigali to their own half but the latter’s defense marshaled around skipper Latif Bishira looked very composed and ready to deal with any danger.

After warming themselves into the game, the visitors were in total control of the game from midfield.

Their attack made up of veteran Shaban Hussein tested goalkeeper Nicholas Sebwato in the 25th minute but the Ugandan shot stopper saved the situation.

Both teams took delight in ball possession but it was AS Kigali who looked more dangerous whenever they had the chance to move upfront.

Mukura coach Lotfi Afahmia made a couple of changes in the second half, bringing on Fidel Mahoro for Djuma Ssebaduka in the 66th minute and also Mohammed Sylla for Aboubakar Uwiduhaye whereas Bruno Etoundi came in for Gerard Ndayogeje in the 77th minute.

The trio changed the phase of the game as Mukura dominated possession but could not utilize the chances they had.

The game ended 0-0 as Mukura maintained their fourth position with 43 points whereas AS Kigali are sixth with 39 points.
