EASTERN PROVINCE

RWAMAGANA — A total of 40 district and provincial leaders selected from across the Province have completed a-three-day training on leadership and innovative skills.

The training held at Avega offices in Rwamagana was organised by the Provincial authority  and conducted by On the Frontier (OTF) Consulting firm.

Participants included the area governor Dr Ephraim Kabayija, district Mayors, district Executive Secretaries, Provincial directors, and several other high ranking authorities in the province from the army and Police.

Closing the workshop on Wednesday, Dr Kabayija said that they acquired valuable  skills that would help them propel the province to development.

"You have vowed to do many things which take you through fighting many battles, which battles are normally lost in the mind. But if we can work together, what we have learnt can easily make a great impact,” the governor told the leaders.

He asserted that there could  be challenges emanating from having meagre resources, but leaders need to faithfully make sacrifices in order to succeed.

There is need to look at the tasks ahead, instead of focussing on the current situations, he said, further explaining that leaders have to work hard and drive residents to work.

‘People have to work hard to liberate their minds from local brew and  idleness, so as to develop, and this needs change of the mindset’, Kabayija noted.

Dr. Reid E.Whitlock, the Country Director of OTF group, said that the skills given to participants would help them improve their performance.
