Francis Haringingo has urged his Mukura players to aim for victory when they face Free State Stars on Wednesday in the preliminary round of the 2018-19 CAF Confederation Cup.

South African side Free State Stars host Mukura in the first-leg clash at Bidvest Stadium in Johannesburg – starting at 3pm.

Mukura qualified to represent Rwanda in the continent’s second biggest club competition in August after beating Rayon Sports to win this year’s Peace Cup.

The Huye-based side are playing continental football for the first time since 2001 and will be marking their return to Caf Confederation since 2000.

"There is no doubt it’s going to be a tough game on both sides, especially us since we are playing away. However, we won’t be intimidated. We will go into the game looking for victory – the least we will settle for is a draw,” said Haringingo.

After Wednesday’s first-leg encounter, the team will be expected to return to home on Thursday and embark on preparations for the decisive return-leg clash – scheduled for December 5.

Mukura departed for South Africa on Monday morning and were due to have a training session on Tuesday afternoon.
