RAYON Sports forward Kevin Muhire is in Faiyum City, Egypt where he is set for trials with Egyptian Premier League side Misr Lel-Makkasa SC.

The 20-year old left the country on Monday afternoon – aboard Ethiopian Airlines at 4:15pm – and will be starting his two-week professional trials on Wednesday.

In an interview with Times Sport before his departure, an optimistic Muhire said, "I really look forward to giving it my best, and passing the trials. Misr Lel-Makkasa are one of the best teams in Egypt at the moment, landing a contract with them would be a dream-come-true step in my career as a footballer.”

The youngster further revealed that: "If all goes according to the plan, I will be offered a two-year, renewable, contract. However, I would come back at Rayon Sports and join them during the January 2019 transfer window.”

Muhire joined Rayon Sports in 2015 – at the age of 17 – and has since played a pivotal role in helping the Blues to win the 2016 Peace Cup and the 2016/2017 league title.

He was also instrumental as the eight-time champions made history to reach the round of last eight in CAF Confederation Cup this year.

Last month, the former Isonga FC forward was voted as Rayon Sports’ Player of the Year, Azam Rwanda Premier League’s Youngster of the Year and was named on the Team of the Year.
