On Sunday afternoon in Gisozi, a suburb of Kigali, hundreds danced, praised and worshiped, as an impressive lineup of gospel artistes entertained them.

The crowd that filled Dove Hotel, for the live concert, dubbed ‘Bible, the Source of Melody’, organised Alarm Ministries in partnership with Bible Society of Rwanda, could not have asked for more.

Performances started at 3pm. Shalom choir opened the concert, treating the crowd to an energetic performance. The choir was followed by Ambassadors of Christ, whom Abayumbe joined on stage to loud cheers from the already delighted audience.

Alarm Ministries took to the stage after Abayumbe choir, performing some of their popular songs that thrilled the revellers.

Highlights of the show included a surprise performance by Simon Kabera, Israel Mbonyi and U.S.-based Rwandan artistes Stephan and his wife Aime Nyakirayi.

The message of the event reflected the theme of the concert, which urged Rwandans to read the bible. During the concert, attendees were encouraged to buy bibles, which were sold at Rwf7,000, instead Rwf12,000.

The concert ended at 9p.m, and those who attended left yearning for more.
