The search for Miss Rwanda 2019 is on, Rwanda Inspiration Back Up, the organisers of Miss Rwanda have announced.

This is the eighth edition of the pageant since its inception in 2009, with its three key values being beauty, brain and culture. Registration for Miss Rwanda 2019 contest begin this Friday November, 23 through their website http://www.missrwanda.rw/registration.

To vie for Miss Rwanda, you must be female and Rwandan by nationality, aged between 18 and 24.

You should also be a secondary school graduate, fluent in Kinyarwanda and any other language preferably English, French or Swahili.

Your height should not be below 1.7 metres and should weigh between 45-70 kilogrammes. Also you should not have given birth and must be ready to stay in Rwanda at least for one year if selected as Miss Rwanda.

The rules also stipulate that the winner must not get married during her reign.

In recent years, Miss Rwanda has served as a platform for contestants to boost their confidence, self-esteem and life skills.

This year, Rwanda took part in Miss World pageant for the third time, this time represented by reigning Miss Rwanda Liliane Iradukunda, who is currently in Sanya, China for the contest.

Dieudonne Ishimwe, the CEO of Rwanda Inspiration Backup, said earlier that they were eyeing the global crown.
