The 5th edition of the annual Inter-School Swimming Competition will be contested by swimmers from a total fourteen schools.

Riviera High School are the defending champions.

This year’s edition is scheduled for November 24 at Green Hills Academy in Nyarutarama, and will have both the girls and boys categories. The local swimming governing body has confirmed.

According to Isaie Kwizera, the technical director of Rwanda Swimming Federation (RSF), the competition is aimed at scouting young talents and promoting the sport from the grassroots level.

The fourteen schools that have registered for the one-day event include; Green Hills Academy, Riviera High School, ISKL, KICS, Ecole Belge, Ecole Francaise, Earth School, ACORNS, Well Spring Academy, Little Germs, Excella, Kigali Parents, Kigali Christian School, and Brook Stead.

Participants will compete in different swimming categories such as butterfly, breaststroke, backstroke, freestyle, and individual medley.

Riviera dominated the medal table last year to lift the title and were followed by Ecole Francaise and Ecole Belge in second and third place, respectively.
