Renowned record producer and musician Dr. Nganji, is set to release his fourth album, ‘Kinyarwanda’ on April 22, marking a significant milestone in Rwanda’s musical scene.

The Green Ferry Music studio mogul aims not only at celebrating Rwanda’s cultural roots but also bridge the gap between tradition and innovation, according to a press release from his recording label.

The masterpiece follows solo projects like ‘Doze’, ‘After Doze’ and ‘Overdoze’ albums, which made him a household name.

Dr. Nganji, real name Dominique Ngabonziza, drew inspiration from ancestral melodies and cultural narratives passed down through generations and the masterpiece merges tradition with modern elements, preserving Rwanda’s musical authenticity and purity through sampling.

According to Dr. Nganji, one of the pioneers of Kinyatrap sub genre and the brains behind Green Ferry Music studio and record label, the album, features a star-studded lineup of Rwandan artistes including Bushali, Icenova, B.Threy, Ngaara, Karambizi, Redink, Dr. Dace Murundi, Kaya Byinshii, Romeo Rapstar, Neriwest, Racine, Bushali, ZeoTrap and many more.

Through tracks like ‘Rwamakombe’ ft. ZeoTrap, the 31-year-old bridges generations and genres, showcasing the diversity and depth of Rwanda’s musical talent.

Other songs on the roster are ‘Abanyarwanda’, ‘Imisambi’, ‘Imituku’, ‘Rwamajana’, ‘Umurinzi’ to mention but a few.

The recording engineer and entrepreneur explains that each track in ‘Kinyarwanda’ weaves a vibrant tapestry of Rwandan culture, echoing ancestral rhythms and melodic cadences. The aim is to unite tradition and innovation, inviting listeners on a journey of cultural appreciation.

"From the rhythmic beats echoing the heartbeat of our ancestors to the harmonies that resonate with the whispers of our cultural narratives, every note is a homage to our heritage,” he said.

Through this album, Dr. Nganji aims to not only celebrate Rwanda’s cultural roots but also to bridge the gap between tradition and innovation, inviting listeners on a journey that transcends boundaries and fosters a deeper appreciation for our shared musical legacy.
