The Junior Wasps are promising therefore, we should  not write them off after  failing to advance to the next stage of the African Youth Championship.

This was  because they could not resist pressure from Ghana’s Black Satellites and eventually succumbed to a bitter exit, Saturday afternoon.

It has consequently left everyone visibly hurt but before we dismiss our young boys as wasteful and ineffective, let us first reflect on the past.

The Saturday mid-afternoon game which ended Rwanda’s chances of claiming a semi final spot as well as securing her ticket for the Fifa U-20 World Cup was a tricky one. Both sides played a cautious game until they all opened up with Ghana going in front.

As coach Obradovic Tomislav said after the game, "there is nothing we could have done to win. We got chances and failed to use them and Ghana utilised her chances to get a win.”

In football there are two sides of the story: you win or lose and we lost because we failed to sharpen our boots in front of the goal but we played a good game.

We should now focus on the good moments we had and upgrade our soccer skills.
