JEAN Baptiste Mugiraneza has said that his APR teammates cannot "get too comfortable” despite collecting maximum points from their first three league games in the 2018-19 season.

The army side, seeking a record-extending 18th league title, top the table standings with 9 points, alongside Peace Cup holders Mukura Victory Sports.

APR beat Kirehe 2-0 on Wednesday, thanks to a brace from youngster Lague Byiringiro, while Mukura overcame Bugesera FC 1-0 in a closely fought encounter courtesy of Dieudone Munezero’s stoppage time winner.

Commonly referred to as Migi, APR skipper Mugiraneza has urged his teammates to stay focused as they bid to retain the Azam Rwanda Premier League title.

"We played great football today. Every player displayed the highest level of maturity and zeal. Our aim is to keep working hard in the next matches, because we want to win every game for as long as possible, possibly till end of the season,” he said in a post-match interview.

The former Gor Mahia midfielder added that, "We have two games away in Rubavu against Marines and Etincelles in the next few days, it’s going to be a tough challenge but our goal remains to earn all six points there.”

After Match Day 3, Kirehe are in 15th position with one point.

Elsewhere on Wednesday, Marines held Djuma Masudi’s AS Kigali to a 1-1 draw. Salita Gentil Kambale opened the scoring for the hosts while Frank Kalanda netted the equaliser.
