Two-time reigning champions Gisagara Volleyball Club have completed the signing of two foreign players to beef up their squad ahead of the upcoming 2018/2019 season.

The new season gets underway on November 10.

The two newly signed players included Niger international centre blocker Adamou Doudou Djibril, from Tunisia giants of Esperance de Tunis, and DR Congo-born setter Nakavoua Ben Rhommel, from Congolese side Espoir. They inked a two-year deal each.

A reliable source close to the club that talked to Times Sport on condition of anonymity confirmed the signing of the duo without giving much details.

"Adamou and Nakavoua are our latest additions to the squad, and each signed a two-year contract. Their signing is such a huge boost to our league title aspirations next season.”

In the meantime, Gisagara pre-season tournament starts on Saturday at Gisagara Gymnasium and it is expected that the club will use the tourney as an opportunity to unveil the two new signings.

As was the case with the inaugural 2017 edition, this year’s pre-season tournament has attracted six teams from the men’s topflight volleyball league namely; APR, UTB, Kirehe, IPRC- South, REG and the hosts Gisagara.

Rwanda Energy Group (REG) lifted last year’s title after overcoming Gisagara in straight sets 25-21 29-27 25-23, in the final.
