After enduring a disappointing debut into the new season with a 2-1 defeat to AS Muhanga last Sunday, Police head coach Joel Albert Mphande is optimistic his side will bounce back stronger when they host Espoir FC on Friday afternoon at Kigali Stadium.

The Zambian tactician has urged his players not to underestimate the visitors.

"We will go into the game looking for nothing less than a win, we can’t afford two defeats in a row at the beginning of the season. I have spoken to my players and warned them not to underrate the opponent. We have to learn how to stick to our game plan,” he said.

The 2015 Peace Cup winners finished in sixth position last season.

Meanwhile, SC Kiyovu host Marines at Mumena Stadium without departed head coach Andre Casa Mbungo who stepped down on Wednesday. The former league giants beat Kirehe FC 2-0 at Nyakarambi grounds in their season opener last Sunday.

Action continues on Saturday when champions APR face Musanze, Amagaju host AS Muhanga, Sunrise meet Gicumbi while Bugesera will be against Etincelles.

There will be only one game on Sunday, pitting former champions Rayon Sports and Peace Cup holders Mukura VS at Kigali Stadium. Both sides won their first games, in 2018/2019 season, last weekend.
