Police FC vs Gasogi United, Kigali Pele Stadium

Kickoff: 3pm

Police FC skipper Dominque Savio Nshuti insists he and his teammates have all their eyes set on winning the Peace Cup title this season.

Police have not won the Peace Cup since 2015 and Nshuti believes time is now to dream for glory again and end club’s title jinx at all costs as they prepare to welcome Gasogi United in the semifinal first leg at Kigali Pelé Stadium on Tuesday, April 16.

"Winning the Peace Cup with Police would definitely be one of the biggest achievements as a player so far,” the 27-year-old said.

Nshuti, however, admits, Tuesday’s semifinal game will be a ‘do or die’ affair considering that his side is facing a team that overcame APR FC in the quart finals.

"It is going to be a tough match for both sides,” the former Rayon Sports winger said.

"There is a lot at stake, and we (players) are up for the challenge. We will battle with all we got to win the game – and ultimately go to the final and win the title.”

"We are taking game by game. We have big players who have won the trophies before with other clubs so we believe the winning mentality is there," he added.

It was under Andre Casa Mbungo when Police FC last won the Peace Cup in 2015 after beating Rayon Sports 1-0 in front of a fully-packed Amahoro Stadium in Kigali.

Eric Ngendahimana’s lone strike in the 85th minute was enough to see Police FC win their first Peace Cup title.

The winners will represent Rwanda in the 2024/2025 CAF Confederation Cup.
