Local basketball governing body (Ferwaba) has announced that the Genocide Memorial Tournament (GMT), will take place at BK Arena from April 19-20.

The competition has not taken placed since 2020 due to Covid-19.

The last edition of the GMT was held in 2019, with Rwanda Energy Group (REG) emerging champions after defeating local rivals Patriots 74-71 in the final.

Officials at Ferwaba lined up eight participating teams in this year's tournament. These include four men's teams and four women's teams which secured top-four finishes in the first round of the 2024 Rwanda Basketball League.
