Vikings Cricket club beat Tamil Lions by 4 wickets

Vikings Cricket Club piled more misery on Tamil Lions Club with 4 wickets win over the weekend at IPRC-Kicukiro.

It was the fourth loss and the last game of the season for Tamil Lions that opted to bat 1st posting 149/10 in their 34 overs.

Avinash Chandramouli contributed 49 runs off 80 balls while Saravana Kumar managed 39 runs off 56 balls.

In reply, Vikings showed some spirit to chase for 153 runs for 6 in their 26 overs but six wickets were a big ask for a side that were facing a better bowling lineup.

Vikings performed robustly thanks mainly to the trio of Krishna Swami (5 wickets 29 runs in 7 overs), Shantanu Kothari, (2 wickets 27 runs in 9 overs), and Harun Kumar (2 wickets 27 runs in 9 overs).   

Batsman Adelin Tuyisere was the star player, contributing the highest score of 48 runs off 51 balls. 

His teammate, Bosco Tuyizera, managed 22 runs off 30 balls.

Vikings now have two wins that move them to eight points out of four games so far.

In the women's category, Queens of Victory Women cricket Club beat Dolphins by 40 runs to register their second win of the season.   

Batting first, the Queens managed to set a target of 108 for 7 in 20 overs while Dolphins came to an apt end with 68 for 5 in 20 their 20 overs.  

Jean d'Arc Iradukunda held her composure to guide the Queens when she posted 21 runs off 29 balls with Lilian Niyonsaba adding 13 runs off 12 balls.

It was the fourth defeat for Dolphins this season but another good day for Uwase Sabline who finished as top scorer with 22 runs off 50 balls.

The Queens subsequently moved to the second position equal on points (eight) with Oasis Cricket Club, while Sorwathe tops Women Division 2 Pool with 12 points from three wins.
