The Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) award gala in Kigali on Saturday night saw 27 black films/filmmakers win accolades in various film disciplines.

The 14th edition of the annual award took place at the Intare Conference Arena, a mega Conference and Events facility in Rusororo outside Kigali.

It was the first time that AMMA, founded in Nigeria in 2005, was coming to East Africa.
