Mukura Victory Sports skipper Hussein Ciza has admitted that his team still have a lot to do if they are to be consistent in representing the country in CAF competitions.

The black-and-yellow outfit will feature in the 2019 Caf Confederation Cup next year.

The Uganda-born forward was speaking to Times Sport in an exclusive interview on Thursday, in reaction to last Sunday’s 2-0 Super Cup defeat at the hands of APR in Rubavu District.

"We made a couple of unnecessary mistakes and APR were able to get the best out of them. We have to style up and aim high if we are to regularly play continental football. We will make it up for our fans whom we disappointed once the new season starts,” Ciza said.

The Huye-based side’s captain, who still has one year on his contract with Mukura, also challenged his teammates to be ready to play with their hearts in Caf Confederation Cup but also work hard in the league next season so they can qualify for the 2020 continental football.

"Continental football is a great opportunity for us to showcase our talent and gain experience. It is also a great platform for players to be observed by different scouts, which leads to securing professional contracts with teams in advanced leagues,” Ciza added.

According to the 2018/2019 Azam Rwanda Premier League fixtures released by the local football governing body (Ferwafa) last week, Peace Cup holders Mukura will begin their new campaign hosting Nyagatare-based Sunrise at Stade Huye on October 20.

Their second game will be against hopefuls Rayon Sports at Kigali Stadium on October 28 before taking on Bugesera FC at Huye Stadium on October 31.
