The Touch: Queen of bags

Bags! Can you ever have enough? Sadly, for our savings the answer is a hearty “no”. Ever put on an outfit and feel like it needs something? Well it does need a statement bag, a handbag that demands attention, a handbag that can be your everyday bag. It can be funky and fresh or custom made and eccentric.

Bags! Can you ever have enough? Sadly, for our savings the answer is a hearty "no”. Ever put on an outfit and feel like it needs something?

Well it does need a statement bag, a handbag that demands attention, a handbag that can be your everyday bag. It can be funky and fresh or custom made and eccentric.

If you have always been a bags lady like me then this new trend must excite you. The past few years, however, fashion hasn’t been too kind to the clutch bags, fancying instead big colourful bags.

There is never much space to accommodate all the things you need to put in your bag. Many of you have searched for a bag large enough for all your essentials and finally your cry has been heard ushering in a new trend of oversized bags coded "one size fits all”.

These bags are big enough to hold everything to take its owner from work to drinks with the girls...and then on to a five day get-away. They are absolutely God sent. They fit everything leaving your hands free and stylish.

These bags come in a variety of colours; black, red, blue, pale grey, green, and taupe. Their material cut across silky wool to incredible leather. The bag’s outsized proportion is designed to make you look smaller but fashionable.

Their versatility allows them to look great with a business suit as it does jeans and a sweater. The oversized bag does have its place and purpose in our lives so let them in. For students, oversized bags are a great alternative to ‘book bags’.

Similarly, an oversized bag can be used as a diaper bag for mamas. Professionals may want to pick one that’s large enough to hold their files and laptops.

Big bags don’t seem to be going out of fashion anytime soon, with more and more designers such as Yves Saint Laurent, Fendi, Prada and Chanel creating bags big enough to fit the person holding it. The more they produce the more we wear them. The bigger the better, right?
