The University of Tourism, Technology and Business Studies (UTB) women volleyball club are reported to be in advanced talks with Rwanda international Charlotte Nzayisenga for a possible move to the varsity side ahead of the upcoming 2018/2019 season.

The left-attacker is out of contract at Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) volleyball club.

Nzayisenga, 25, has been plying her trade at RRA since 2014 where she inspired the tax collectors side to four consecutive league titles and many Carre d’As titles among others.

According to UTB team manager, Philbert Mucyo, the two parties are in advanced talks and Nzayisenga could soon become the club’s latest and major signing of the transfer window.

"The discussions between the player and club are going on well, and are already in advanced stages. It’s just a few details that are still being negotiated before she finally signs for us. Nzayisenga is vastly talented and experienced, her presence would be of huge impact,” Mucyo told Sunday Sport in an exclusive interview on Saturday.

The team manager also revealed that, "UTB has applied to join the national women’s volleyball league, we are now wait for the federation’s general assembly approval soon.”

When she was 15, Nzayisenga helped her then secondary school, GS Indangaburezi to win the girls’ volleyball title in the national inter-schools championship in 2009, which they also retained in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013, respectively.

In 2010, she was instrumental in her team that won their first ever regional post-primary regional FEASSSA Games title in Nakuru, Kenya. She went on to make four more appearances in the annual multi-discipline competitions from 2011 till 2014.

From 2009 to 2014, Nzayisenga featured for Ruhango Volleyball Club and guided the team to finishing third in the national championship on three occasions.
