Dream Taekwondo eager to dominate Ambassador’s Cup

EUGENE Ntawangundi, the head coach of Dream Taekwondo Club, has tipped his side to yet again dominate the 6th edition of the annual Ambassador’s Cup that starts today.

The two-day event will conclude on Sunday at Amahoro Indoor Stadium.

The Gatenga-based club dominated last year’s edition, and are expected to go into the tournament today as firm favorites.

Ntawangundi said, "We have selected the best players and I strongly believe they are ready for this year’s competition. They are all committed and determined to fight to retain our title.”

According to the organizers, Rwanda Taekwondo Federation, this year’s edition has attracted a total 134 fighters.

Last year, Rwanda finished topped the medal table followed by Uganda and Kenya, who took silver and bronze medals, respectively.

In club ranking, Rwanda’s Dream Taekwondo Club, lifted the trophy, and was followed by Team Uganda and IYF Taekwondo Club from Kimironko.
