We can make Rwanda look like the Garden of Eden. To some, this may seem like far-fetched, but it can be done.

To do this, we must go green. We should build green houses. Green houses, when built, provide seedlings to plant even more trees. Embracing agroforestry (a land-use management system through which trees are grown around or among crops) can also be helpful if we are to reach this goal.

In the city, green belts (an area of open land around a city, on which building is restricted) must be assembled. This means planting trees and growing gardens in many areas.

We should keep a good image of the city and Kigali City already has a good appearance from the many green belts built there.

Reforestation must be practiced to regain the country’s nature which was destroyed. We must also carry out afforestation and plant trees where they were non-existent before. This will increase the number of forests in Rwanda and boost our green development.

However, we can’t achieve this goal if there are people still destroying the environment.

Rwandans should know that trees are beneficial to the environment, and so we must take care of them. By cutting down trees for firewood or charcoal, we are destroying the environment. 

We should respect and protect the environment. We can’t leave the entire responsibility to the Government; it is our responsibility too. It starts with us.

Let our country be the Garden of Eden, with that, we will avoid natural disasters like famine, floods and many others, and also keep the country beautiful.
