Rapper P Fla, real name Amani Murerwa Hakizimana, has for long been one of Rwanda’s most promising rappers but the 33 year old has had a long battle with drugs, which affected his talent.

But the hip hop artiste, who claims to be clean since his return from rehab in December 2017, says that he is now on the right track to restore his career.

Apart from resurrecting his music career, the "Nkunda rap” singer also made it clear that he’s no longer with his former girlfriend and mother of his son El Poeta, confirming that he has found love in his new girlfriend Aline.

The rapper confirmed to The New Times that Aline, who has been popular in different music videos like Jay Polly’s hip hop song ‘Akanyarirajisho’, is his new girlfriend.

"It is not a secret that I am in a relationship with Aline.  She is now my girlfriend and I am proud of her. It is not important to say how long we’ve been in a relationship, but it is true we are in love. You never know what the future holds for us, but my wish is that our love should go as deep as possible,” he said.

Although he parted ways with his former love El Poeta, who at one time was a promising female rapper, P Fla says she remains his friend as a mother his 9-year old son, adding that their kid will never be victim of their ended relationship.

Once seen as the ‘hip hop couple’ of Rwanda, the duo were reported to be falling out over P Fla’s behaviour and dependence on drugs.

"Poeta and I have been together for so long but, there was a time that we realised that the [love] affair is no longer working, until each of us made a decision to call it quits.”

"Of course, she’s is still my friend as a mother of my baby and I respect her,” he said, adding that he knows it is his responsibility to take care of his child.

"I try to meet my son so often to make sure he is okay and I try to give him whatever he needs, in my capacity,” P Fla said.

Since his release from prison in December last year, P Fla said that he was eager to work harder to retain his legion of fans but the rapper says lack of management is holding him back.

The rapper has released a few songs to his name, including ‘Mama Mwiza’, a collaboration with Aline Gahongayire, produced by Clement Ishimwe, ‘Nkunda Rap’ and ‘Niyo Number’ featuring Bull Dogg.

P Fla says he has been having talks with different record labels but none has reached an agreement with him. He says talks are going well with music label known as ‘Detox Record’, which Aline manages.

The rapper says he has a lot in the pipeline.
