Mergims founder and Chief Executive, Louis-Antoine Muhire was last week appointed to public service as the Chief Executive of the newly created Rwanda Cooperation Initiative.

Rwanda Cooperation Initiative was this year set up by the Government to organise how the country exchanges ideas and experiences with other countries in the interest of South to South Cooperation.

Muhire returned to Rwanda from Canada about four years ago to set up a financial technology firm, Mergims, which serves to facilitate diaspora remittances to African countries.

This year, he published a book on his entrepreneurial journey, "Starting from the Bush” which he has since been distributing free of charge to emerging and young business people to share tips.

Rosine Urujeni will serve as the Chief Operations Officer of the newly created entity. Executive Watch is a weekly column that tracks the careers and graduation of top companies in Rwanda and the region. Feel free to send us tips on promotions in your respective firms on editorial@newtimes.co.rw
