POLICE handball club were on Saturday crowned champions of the 2018 national handball league on Saturday evening after defeating APR in 36-29 at Kimisagara Youth Centre.

It was a revenge for Police after losing the title to APR last season after a crucial win of 37-28. Police finished on top with 53 points while APR finished in second place and three points behind leaders.

Police coach, Dismas Turatsinze said that it was a successful year after winning the last game of the season. Turatsinze said that he is happy after winning national league for the first time as head coach.

"For me it is the first time as head coach to win the league and we have challenged the champions of last year.
