10 male contestants are in the competition that will see the winner crowned tonight.

Tonight, the 2018 Mister and Miss Elegance winners will be crowned in a colorful event at Kigali Marriott Hotel.

Over 20 contestants, including 10 females and 10 males, will be vying for the title.

Event coordinator, Emmanuel Murenzi, said the contestants are ready for the finale.

"We are ready for the grand finale. Contestants have been doing well during the training sessions in runway, speaking engagement and project development while at the boot camp and, with the jury we will be having on the panel, I am positive that the winners will be crowned on merit,” he noted.

This year’s competition has an emphasis on the contestants having fun on stage, and making sure they are fit and healthy.

The competition was allowing only contestants aged between 18 and 25 years old to participate while beauty, elegance, intelligence, Q&A, and catwalk skills are the conditions that the jury counts on while giving marks to the contestants.

The pageant was founded in 2016 by a group of local fashion designers and models, with the objective to empower young men and women to launch their dreams into career pathways and be a part of the country’s development.

It is also a platform that gives contestants an opportunity to express themselves by developing their projects which are presented to the public and turn their dreams into reality.

The Mister and Miss Elegance winners will be crowned by their predecessors, Chris Junior Rutagengwa and Nasra Umutoni.

According to organisers, the winners will be facilitated during their project implementation in terms of financing and capacity building on how they can run a successful project in a period of one year.

Entrance fee is Rwf5000 (regular), Rwf10 000 (VIP), and Rwf100 000 (a table of six people, with a bottle of wine).

Entertainment for the night will be provided by Yvery and Sebeya band.
