The President dissolves Parliament today, one that has been the busiest so far.

The outgoing lower chamber had the highest representation of women in the world, hovering around 64 percent at any one time.

That number is likely to increase seeing that over 60 candidates are women. RPF-Inkotanyi, which has been at the forefront of women empowerment, has presented its list of candidates of which 58 percent are women.

The outgoing MPs had their plate full throughout the tenure. First it was flooded by millions of petitions from Rwandan all over the country and diaspora. calling for a referendum to amend the constitution so President Kagame could run for another term.
