Rayon Sports will be looking for a positive result when they face topflight league rivals Sunrise FC in the first-leg of the Peace Cup semi-finals today at Nyagatare grounds.

The 2016 winners sailed through to the last four after edging Marines 4-1 in the quarter-finals.

The Blues take on Nyagatare-based Sunrise three days after their return from Algeria last Friday where they held USM Alger 1-1 in a CAF Confederation Cup match – in Group D.

While speaking to Times Sport on Sunday, Rayon Sports coach Roberto Oliveira Goncalves said that, "The players are fit and fired up to record an away victory before hosting the return-leg.” He added that, "The target is to win the tournament. That’s the only way we can play continental football next season, we can’t underrate any opponent at this stage.”

The eight-time league champions will host Sunrise FC in the return-leg on Thursday at Kigali Stadium.

Winners of the 2018 Peace Cup, whose final is set for August 12, will represent Rwanda in CAF competitions next year – along with league champions APR.

Meanwhile, APR will be hosting Mukura VS in the second-leg of their semi-final tie at Amahoro Stadium on Wednesday hoping to book berth to the final.

Both sides played out a goalless draw in the first-leg at Huye Stadium last Friday.
