KHAITAN Sporting Club have completed the signing of Rwanda international Faustin Usengimana on a two-year contract. The deal will see him at the Kuwaiti side through 2020.

Usengimana, 24, travelled to Kuwait for final discussions and a medical test with the club mid last week before penning his two-year contract with Khaitan Sporting Club on Saturday.

The central defender joined the club as a free agent following the expiry of his contract with Rayon Sports last month.

Speaking to Times Sport in a telephone interview from Kuwait on Sunday, a thrilled Usengimana said he was happy to seal the deal with Khaitan SC and looked forward to enjoying the new challenge of his career in Kuwait.

"I am very happy to be joining such a big club, with inspiring ambitions. I will strive to perform to the best of ability to help my new team succeed,” Usengimana said.

Usengimana was a key player in the famous U17 Amavubi starlets that finished second at the 2011 CAF Africa U17 Cup of Nations in Kigali and the squad that played the FIFA World U17 Cup in Mexico the same year.

While bidding farewell to the long-serving defender, Rayon Sports tweeted on Sunday, "We never said bye because bye means going away and forgetting. We won't forget your work and team love, Faustin Usengimana. Good luck in the future.”

Also via the club’s official Twitter handle, Rayon Sports revealed they had signed two new players; 19-year old Ivorian striker Kouame Brou Gerard Stephane from Togolese side Entente FC and 20-year old Ghanaian midfielder Donkor Prosper Kuka from Accra Young Wise.
