Coming into the second half, REG looked more energized, making less defensive mistakes to narrowly steal the third quarter 23-19 before Kepler bounced back with a 27-16 to force the game into overtime. It was, however, REG who came out on top and took home the win after claiming the overtime 10-7.

Antino starred with 25 points and star center Pitchou Manga added 20 points, while Benjamin Mukengerwa contributed 18 points.

American guard Chad Bowie Jordan topped Kepler’ scoring with 29 points whereas Done Carlos Alejandro and Jean Paul Ndoli contributed 14 and 12 points, respectively.

Charles Mushumba came into the game looking to bounce back from Friday’s 78-75 disappointing defeat to APR BBC.

The win kept the former champions in third place with 14 points with one while Patriots are in second place with 16 points. The pair trail APR BBC who sit top of the table with 17 points but they both still have one more game to play.

In the women’s category, Esperance Mukaneza’s REG returned to winning ways, from Friday’s 77-75 defeat to APR women, to beat Kepler 65-63.

Kepler ladies started brightly and took the first quarter 18-9 but REG reduced the deficit after claiming the second quarter 16-15. Mukaneza’s side controlled the game and claimed the third quarter 26-12. Kepler fought back to claim the final quarter 18-14 but it was not enough for them to take the win away from the former champions.
